Tech which makes Sense

Cats vomit. It is part of who they are. Just because you don’t like clutter doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an unhealthy sign, that you should take action. Let’s first look at some of the reasons why cats vomit and then if, when and what you should do.

Cats are very clean animals. They spend many hours grooming themselves. This means that even short-haired moggies eat a lot of fur. The best way a cat has found to get rid of this is to vomit it back up when it has formed into a firm ball. This is a perfectly normal and natural reaction, which is most evident in the spring and fall shedding months when they discard one coat for a more appropriate one.

Although this hairball may occasionally mix with food, it is not a cause for alarm.

Cats also eat grass as a natural cleaning action. When they have a slight stomach upset, they graze on some grass, only to get it back soon after. Often this is simply accompanied by saliva. This is a natural and normal part of being a cat. Denying an indoor cat access to the lawn, simply by cleaning up a few messes, is denying your cat access to good natural health.

Cats that eat a healthy diet of raw meat and bones also tend to vomit up bone fragments occasionally. This is another normal, natural and healthy part of being a cat. There is absolutely no need to worry.

Cats can also vomit when their health is compromised. And only with experience can you learn what is healthy cat vomit and what is not. Essentially, it is important not to panic, not to seek help right away. Watch and see what pattern, if any, develops. Healthy animals have a great capacity to resolve acute disorders, when given the opportunity.

A cat that is vomiting from a health issue will naturally want to fast. Digestion requires a great deal of energy, and this is necessary to help rebalance your cat’s health. So again, if your cat is vomiting and refusing food, this is not necessarily a cause for alarm. He is in the natural order of things.

Vomiting accompanied by diarrhea is usually the result of food poisoning. This purging is a healthy sign that your cat is adjusting well. A healthy cat will have strong symptoms initially, lessening as the situation progresses.

However, a sick cat may need help, especially if you feed him commercial cat food. There have been so many cat food recalls due to dangerous ingredients that it’s much better to take control and feed your cat homemade cat food, one that you know is always healthy. One that won’t let your cat become a statistic.

A healthy cat is fed with a homemade, natural and healthy cat food. Feeding your cat commercial cat food can lead to serious health problems, even death. Can you afford to take the risk?
