MANUFACTURERS OF OFFERS

Everyone considers himself a negotiator in some way. Since you were a boy or a girl you were already making a deal. You were exchanging something with a friend or family member because you wanted to make a deal. You made a deal with your parents. If you followed their rules, you exchanged your obedience for a gift or a reward. How many times have you heard Mom or Dad say, “Okay son, if you get certain grades on your report card, I’ll give you $$$. Do you remember those days?”

Well, now that you’ve grown up, gone to school, or survived neighborhood tests, you’ve certainly experienced the thrill of being a negotiator. When you reached a certain age, and it varies with everyone, your friends and family told you that you had too much on your plate. Did someone ever tell you that? When I was little, I always heard my cousins or friends tell me, “You have so many projects going on at once, why don’t you just do ONE thing? You never seem to get anything done.”

I bet you’ve heard it more than once. Well, here’s something I want to convey to you. This type of activity is a blessing. Yes, you are blessed and you don’t know it. You see, we all have a sixth sense. It works like this. Remember when you were young and mom was in another room? I couldn’t see you through the walls, but I was yelling “Tommy, get out of your daddy’s drawer.” How did he know you were poking around in daddy’s drawer? It was his sixth sense. The Good Lord gave all moms a sixth sense. How else could they be so protective? You do not believe me? What about grandma when she found out when you were in trouble? You could never lie to him when you came home because his sixth sense tasted different.

We all have a sixth sense. Some people realize and use it and others do not know it and go through life without using it. This is how your sixth sense works as a negotiator. Many times you have projects to do or business to do. They are in your mind or organized on your computer. Most of use never organize our thoughts. So, we lose some great ideas.

Have you ever driven your car, had an idea that was tremendous BUT forgot it? Try to remember it and you won’t be able to. So now we have too much on your plate and your sixth sense again. Please don’t think this is a layman’s psychology lesson. This is an example of the things that very successful people have done over the years and we marvel at their ability to make things happen.

Do we call these people dreamers, visionaries, negotiators, crazy, mentally unbalanced or what? I call them “negotiators.” You are a negotiator but you don’t know it. This is what happens to negotiators. Yes, they have a lot of things on their plate. Yes, they hear their friends tell them to do one thing and then continue until they have a clean slate.

Well, if you’re like me and you’re one of those people who seems to have so much to do, this is what happens to me and others I know. When you go to bed at night you have something on your mind that makes you get up and go to your computer or desk. Suddenly, your sixth sense tells you that if you take project n. 4 and places it with project no. 17 and then combines them with project no. 22, has recognized that each individual project has something in common with the others. You and your sixth sense have developed these projects. Some refer to the sixth sense as the subconscious mind, but I don’t have the qualifications of a “psychiatrist” to develop that. I just know that sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, go to my computer, and make deals. Then I go back to bed and sleep like a baby. Yes, I am also a dreamer, wacko, negotiator or whatever you want to call me, but you are also a negotiator. Just be aware of it and let it happen.

Our mom lived to be one hundred and two years old. I will always remember her telling us that “the body follows the mind.” At the age of one hundred he was still sewing on five different sewing machines at the same time. He was featured in a Pfaff magazine at his age. Are your genes passed on? I don’t know, but I bet if you started listening to your subconscious mind, your life could last longer.
