Tech which makes Sense

In the world of music, if you already have a lot of money, you can write any kind of song in any way. You can use your money on marketing the song, to make up for any talent you lack in writing. It may not become a standard, or what some call a classic, but the song may have some short-term success.

Now if you don’t have the money and want to know how to write a real song, this is the article for you.

This article is about the mechanics of writing a song. I have chosen one of my favorite songs as an example in this article. Although I think it’s a very good song, some may think that the substance of the song needs some work (in the creative field, we all have our own views, tastes and opinions). structure in the art of songwriting.

Well, first of all, when writing a song, you have to choose which song pattern you want to use. Some song patterns fit certain songs better than others. I’m going to use shorthand to explain these song patterns. The letter V=verse. The letter C=choir, and the letter B=bridge.

The most used song patterns in the songs you hear on the radio are VCVCBC, VVBV, VVCVBC or something similar. My song that I will be using in this article “Down The Road Of Love” has a VVCVCBC song pattern. These are not only the most popular song patterns, but also the most successful ones that writers use when writing a song.

However, the important thing to remember is to create a NEW song pattern WITHIN a conventional song pattern. You do this for originality purposes. You use common song patterns to write good memorable songs, but you also have to put your own original twist on that song.

In most cases, the song is about love. You, as a writer, have to create and put your own personal touch on each love song you are about to write.

I’m sure everyone knows where the all-important title (“Down The Road Of Love”) goes.

The first verse goes like this:

I was sailing through life, with my pedal to the metal.
And God knew he was running on “E”.
This is how your love feels to me, to stop me.
Because heaven was not waiting for me.

Now the second verse goes like this:

I was losing my mind, with my body and my soul.
To hell with a smile.
I never saw any flashing red lights.
Until your love took me for a ride.

Then the chorus:

Down The Road Of Love, where life unfolds.
All the beauty and the secret that this world keeps.
On the path of love, where your love is my key.
To make heaven on earth a reality.

Now the third verse:

Now love runs my life, with you holding the wheel.
I couldn’t ask for a better guide.
Because I never traveled the right paths in life.
Until your love took me for a ride.

Repeat the chorus:

Bridge:

So I thank you for life, and God above.
For a life I could never have dreamed of.

Repeat the chorus:

Ok, now is the complete song. It has three different music sets. The repetitive chorus has its own thing, as well as the short bridge, which envelops the song. Those two parts of the song are musically and lyrically independent. The three different verses also have the same music in all three verses. This is a great song to show how although the words are different in the verses, the rhythm, tempo and music are the same in each verse. You can simply read each line and see how each line in each verse works together. You can also see how it flows naturally, without forcing notes, syllables or words. You can also notice the perfect rhyme pattern created in this song, which also flows naturally.

Now this is a crash course on how to write a good song, the proper and professional way. Of course I can’t mention everything I know about the craft of songwriting in one article, but it should give you a good understanding of how to write a song.

I hope you all take this knowledge and one day write that hit song you’ve all been dreaming of.
