Tech which makes Sense

Not everyone spends a fortune to get a smartphone and HTC recognized this way ahead of the other mobile carriers. HTC is a company that focuses on offering high-end phones at very affordable prices. HTC started its low-end segment models with HTC Tattoo, followed by Wildfire and Wildfire S. But all of these phones always had a gap and lacked powerful performance. To fill this gap, HTC launched HTC Desire C which comes with Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is packed with other features. Let’s see what this amazing phone has in store for us.

Software and apps: HTC Desire C runs on the latest Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system from Google. This definitely comes as a fresh breeze when almost every second phone in the market runs on gingerbread OS. Equipped with Google’s ICS user interface and HTC Sense 4.0, the Desire C is the most desired budget phone in the industry. The user interface is very smooth and you can customize your home page by choosing from a variety of widgets. This phone comes with a mix of preloaded Google apps and third-party widgets like Dropbox, SoundHound, and 7Digital. It even has the ability to resize widgets so you can decide how big they can take up on the screen.

Construction and Design: Unlike previous HTC phones, HTC Desire C is compact and feels great when held. With dimensions of 60 X 107 mm, this mobile looks a lot like a credit card but with a thickness of 12.5 mm. The phone looks very nice and the front navigation keys draw you in immediately. The only negative is that the phone uses more plastic, so the case is prone to fingerprints. The volume rocker and power lock key are well placed. Little details like the red frame around the camera lens and the silver frame around the screen give the HTC Desire C a really beautiful look. The screen of the phone is 3.5 inches long and has a resolution of 480X320.

Performance and hardware: HTC Desire C does not fall into the category of super fast smartphones. This phone is equipped with a 600 MHz single core CPU with a 512 MB RAM. Performance is slow at times when multitasking. The phone runs games like Angry Birds and Temple without any difficulty, but when it comes to games like Fruit Ninja, the phone takes too long to charge. HTC Desire C comes with a built-in memory of 4 GB, however, it can be increased up to 32 GB with micro SDHC cards. Plus, HTC offers two years of free 25GB cloud storage with the Dropbox app.

Camera: This phone comes with a 5 MP camera. Being a low-end segment phone, HTC Desire C lacks front camera, LED flash and sensor. However, the camera app on the phone comes with a lot of settings and options. You can easily switch between photo and video mode by simply clicking a button. Videos can be recorded 640X480. The camera’s focus is not that precise and there is some blurring in the photos.

Call quality and other features: The call quality is almost the same as other phones on the market. The earpiece is loud and clear, but the mouthpiece picks up unnecessary external noise. So if you are in traffic and try to talk on this phone, the chances of the other person hearing traffic noises are higher. Battery life is something that puts a smile on your face. It comes with a 1,230 mAh battery that lasts almost 2 days depending on usage. You get the regular HTC headphones and it’s a Beats Audio phone. The phone’s speaker gives you a clean sound and won’t irritate you. The built-in stock browser is not that great for browsing the internet, so it is always better to download Opera for fast processing.

Conclusion: HTC Desire C is definitely a good entry-level smartphone and is the ideal phone for those who don’t want to spend a lot on smartphones or who are looking for their first smartphone.
