First held on January 15, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, the event was called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game. The NFL’s 44th annual Super Bowl will take place at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on February 7, 2010. 2010 will mark the tenth time this event has been hosted by South Florida. The Championship has been held at Dolphin Stadium five times already. Other times the game was played in the Orange Bowl.
